School Bus Crash in East Charlotte Sends Four to Hospital With Non-life Threatening Injuries

A school bus crashed in east Charlotte on Thursday afternoon, injuring several individuals.

According to Medic, the incident took place around 4:20 p.m. on the 8200 block of East WT Harris Boulevard, just north of Lawyers Road. The northbound WT Harris was closed at the scene.

Four people were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. KIPP charter school authorities claim pupils were taken to the hospital “out of an abundance of caution.”

“We are working with our contracted bus company, Olympic Bus, and the CMPD to better understand all of the details of this traffic accident,” KIPP North Carolina Executive Director Tim Saintsing stated. “We hope the driver of the other vehicle involved in this incident is okay.”
