According to the Washington State Patrol, two separate crashes on US 395 north of Connell on Saturday killed one person and wounded five others.
The first crash occurred shortly after 4 p.m., approximately four miles north of Connell.
One truck reportedly slowed down for traffic, causing a car to collide with it. The car’s driver was injured and sent to a local hospital.
The second incident included six automobiles and occurred in the same spot as the first. The accident was a pileup caused by cars going too fast for the conditions.
Andrew Thomas, 29, of Spokane, died at the scene of the incident, while four others were injured.
