18-wheeler Fire Shuts Down I-35w Near Texas Motor Speedway Early Monday

The southbound lanes of I-35W near Texas Motor Speedway were closed early Monday morning due to an 18-wheeler fire.

The incident was reported around 1:30 a.m. on I-35W between Dale Earnhardt Way and Mark Martin Drive, according to Denton County Emergency Services Districts No. 1 and 2. This section of the route has two lanes.

According to Northlake police, the incident only involved an 18-wheeler. According to police, the 18-wheeler appeared to rupture a tire, and sparks caused the trailer to catch fire.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation website, the crash was severe.

According to NPD, the 18-wheeler was delivering pork goods.

Lanes reopened at roughly 8 a.m.
