LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A woman accused of hitting and killing a motorcyclist in Louisville pleaded not guilty Monday.
Erica Parker, 40, has been charged with murder, assault, and DUI.
Parker was detained on May 20 after riding his motorcycle and colliding with Donell Johnson on South Hurstbourne Parkway around 11:30 p.m. Johnson, 38, was struck from his motorcycle and rendered unconscious before being transported to the hospital.
Johnson died in the hospital the next day.
According to investigators, Parker said she had one beer about three hours earlier but was shaky on her feet. Parker was arrested during a field sobriety test, and police said that she smelled of alcohol.
Parker posted bond of $35,000, as stipulated by the judge. She is set to appear in court in July.
