1 Dead, 1 Critically Injured After Car and Tractor-trailer Collide in Montgomery County

On Wednesday morning, a car crash in Maryland killed one person and injured another, according to officials.

At 11:27 a.m., two cars collided on Darnestown Road and Cattail Road in Montgomery County, Maryland. According to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), a tractor-trailer collided with a Ford Fusion, and the Ford’s driver was pronounced deceased at the site.

A passenger in the Fusion was sent to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to the MCPD, the crossing is entirely closed while the police investigate.

Police have yet to identify the deceased Ford driver. According to MCPD, the tractor-trailer driver was on-site and collaborating with investigators.
