Police: 16-year-old Going 150 MPH Caused Crash That Killed 20-year-old Driver and 17-year-old Passenger

Arkansas State Police (ASP) are now investigating a fatal multi-vehicle accident that occurred on the Morrison Bluff Bridge in Logan County.

According to reports, the accident occurred on State Highway 109 at approximately 11:15 p.m. on May 30.

After an ASP investigation, they discovered that a 16-year-old from Scranton, Arkansas, was traveling southbound at roughly 150 mph when he rear-ended another vehicle.

The impact of the crash propelled the other vehicle into the northbound lane, where it collided with an incoming 18-wheeler.

The crash claimed the lives of the second vehicle’s 20-year-old driver and a 17-year-old female passenger.

Following the inquiry, the 16-year-old boy driver was charged with two charges of manslaughter and transported to the Yell County Juvenile Detention Center.

A 71-year-old Scranton woman was also charged with two counts of manslaughter for providing a vehicle to a youngster without a driver’s license.
