Washington Teen Killed After Truck Falls During Weekend Auto Repair Accident

A Washington kid was murdered in an auto repair accident on Saturday night.

According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received a call shortly after 9 p.m. reporting a male pinned under a vehicle near 2094 W 300 N in Washington.

When officials arrived, they discovered a male stuck behind a full-size Ford F350 vehicle. A nearby forklift was used to lift the truck and extract the victim from underneath.

Cooper Schuckman, 16 years old from Washington, was recognized as the victim. The victim’s family was notified.

According to the initial investigation, Schuckman and a friend were working on the vehicle, which was jacked up on two air jacks. While attempting to remove a part from the car, the weight shifted, causing the vehicle to fall off the jacks and onto the victim.

The Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, Daviess County Ambulance Service, and Daviess County Coroner’s Office all assisted the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
