According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, a brawl at Runyon Field Sports Complex on Sunday evening injured two adults and resulted in two arrests.

Deputies said they responded to Runyon Field at 5:10 p.m. after receiving reports of a brawl. When deputies arrived, they reported that medical workers were treating an unconscious 46-year-old guy.

According to deputies, one man was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries, while another was treated for minor injuries.

Deputies were informed that a group of individuals were leaving the field when two ladies began arguing. They stated that two men were attempting to break up the altercation when one of them was smacked in the face by another.

The victim apparently became unconscious and collapsed on the ground. Deputies reported that a second male was then hit with a baseball bat.

Deputies say two suspects fled the scene following the fight.

According to deputies, both suspects have been identified. They claimed one suspect, 52-year-old Armando Carbajal, was recognized as the one carrying the baseball bat.

Deputies said Carbajal was detained for second-degree assault, criminal menacing, and an outstanding warrant.
Deputies say the second suspect, 32-year-old Israel Fernandez, was at the same house but fled before he could be contacted.

Fernandez was arrested on two counts of second-degree assault on Tuesday evening and lodged into the Pueblo County Jail, according to deputies.

According to the Runyon Field website, a kids softball competition was held at the venue on Sunday.

“Our thoughts are with those impacted. The Pueblo County Board of Commissioners stated, “We are hopeful for their full recovery and will keep them in our thoughts at this trying time. “At the moment, an active criminal investigation is underway.
