According to the Arvada Police Department, they responded to 5101 Kipling Street after receiving a report of a woman being forcibly removed from her car while attempting to load her children.
According to police, the suspect warned the victim that someone was hunting him and planning to kill him. The victim yelled for help, and police claimed the woman informed the suspect that her children were inside the car, but the guy continued to force his way in.
Witnesses told police that she attempted to fend off the man while also trying to get her 3-year-old out of the car.
Both of her children were removed from the car before the suspect drove away, according to police. According to reports, the mother and one of the children had minor injuries.
Police say the vehicle was followed to 2nd and Ford Street in Golden, where the suspect was discovered attempting to flag down traffic on Highway 58.
Police identified the suspect as Clifton William White, 55, and arrested him on counts of aggravated robbery and motor vehicle theft. Officers say he was placed into the Jefferson County Jail on a $50,000 bond after receiving medical attention.
