A horrific incident in Broward County forced the closure of Griffin Road on Sunday afternoon, killing at least one person, according to authorities.
Around 2:30 p.m., Davie Police arrived to the area near 15200 Griffin Rd. for a two-vehicle accident, with one of the vehicles “fully engulfed.” Police reported that one person died on the site.
Westbound Griffin Road is currently closed at Southwest 148th Avenue, and eastbound and westbound vehicles cannot reach the Interstate 75 ramps at Griffin Road, according to Davie Police.
Police are advising the public to find alternate routes because the road closures are likely to continue “several hours.”
The circumstances behind the crash are being investigated.
