Man Dead After Violent 4-vehicle Collision on Summit Valley Road in San Bernardino County

A man was killed in a four-vehicle traffic crash on Summit Valley Road in Hesperia on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in an extended closure and investigation.

On June 18, 2025, at approximately 1:44 p.m., a black Honda Accord, a blue Toyota Tacoma, a white GMC work truck, and a FedEx Ground delivery vehicle collided near Foley Road.

San Bernardino County firefighters responded and discovered the Honda with significant front and side damage. The Toyota Tacoma had major front-end damage, the GMC work truck drove off the road into the desert on the east side, and the FedEx truck was on its side in the southbound lane.

California Highway Patrol officials from the Victorville Station verified that the male driver of the Honda was declared dead at the site. The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office will announce his identification after notifying his next of kin.

All other drivers were single occupants and had very minor injuries. Nobody was transported by ambulance. As approximately 3:31 p.m., the coroner had not yet arrived, and all four vehicles remained on location. Summit Valley Road was closed in both directions and is anticipated to remain so for several hours.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
