Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a head-on collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle in Tecumseh Township on Wednesday morning.
According to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, at 7:04 a.m., a silver Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle was speeding north on Newburg Highway near Burwyn Hills Drive when the driver, a 19-year-old man from Tecumseh, Michigan, lost control on a curve, causing him to enter the oncoming lane of traffic.
He was then hit by a Chevrolet C5500 truck driven southbound by a 41-year-old man from Ann Arbor.
The truck driver was wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured. However, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene.
The motorcycle driver was wearing a helmet when the collision occurred. It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
The crash is still being investigated by the Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team.
