The collision that occurred on Thursday morning on United States Highway 14A in Deadwood resulted in the death of a man who was 73 years old and from Lead.
The identity of the person who was killed in the collision is being withheld until his family is informed.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety reports that the Lead man was operating a Honda Ridgeline in the direction of westbound traffic on Highway 14A close to mile marker 40 when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a Ford pickup traveling in the opposite direction westbound.
The pickup driver from Deadwood, who was 59 years old, did not sustain any injuries.
