A semitruck rolled over on I-80 near Silver Creek Junction on Thursday, leaving one person critically injured and closing all westbound lanes for several hours.
The westbound lanes of I-80 reopened around 10:30 a.m., following a semitruck rollover that injured two people around 5 a.m.
According to the Utah Department of Transportation, hazmat crews were called to the scene near mile post 146 after the trailer carrying oil spilled during the accident.
According to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden, the semitruck swerved to avoid a vehicle that collided with an elk, losing control and rolling over.
The tractor-trailer collided with another car, critically injuring the driver.
The semitruck driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.
The identities of those involved have not been revealed.
