1 Dead, 3 Injured in Off-road Vehicle Crash in Indiana, Officials Say

Indiana Conservation Officers are looking into a fatal accident that occurred last night in the Hanover area.

Officers said they responded to a call around 9:30 p.m. about an off-road vehicle (OVR) that had gone off the road and tumbled down a hill on South River Bottom Road.

Charles and Jacquelyn Howell, 74, were flown to the University of Louisville Hospital, where they are in critical condition. Donald McAlister, 55, was taken to King’s Daughters Hospital for minor injuries.

Paula McAlister, 56, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Officers reported that no one was wearing a seatbelt or helmet at the time of the accident.

Alcohol is not suspected to have contributed to the incident, but a test will be conducted. The incident is still being investigated.
