1 Dead in Colorado Springs Crash Involving Speed and Suspected DUI, Police Say

Officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a car accident report at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday near Constitution Avenue and Alpine Drive.

According to authorities, two cars were speeding westbound on Constitution, while a third was attempting to make a left turn from eastbound Constitution onto Alpine Drive.

One of the drivers traveling west collided with the driver turning left.

He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and eventually died as a result.

The CSPD Major incident Team has begun an investigation and believes that speed and drinking are contributing causes to the incident.

The other two drivers’ statuses are unknown at this time, and the person who died has yet to be recognized.
