According to the US Attorney’s Office, a Colorado Springs man has been sentenced to nearly 12 years in prison for his involvement in the armed robberies of Brink workers in Colorado Springs and Aurora.
Officials said the plea bargain indicated that Jahlique Dorsey and an unnamed co-defendant accosted a Brinks employee who was servicing ATMs at a Wells Fargo in Colorado Springs on September 26, 2023. According to the plea bargain, the victim described both guys waving firearms at him during the heist.
According to the papers, the two then stole the employee’s backpack and service weapon before driving away, however, the bag was empty.
The plea deal also stated that roughly a week later, on October 2, the two aimed their pistols at another Brinks employee in Aurora during a second heist.
According to documents, one of the men hit the victim in the mouth during a fight. They then grabbed the victim’s service weapon and a Brinks bag, this time with cash, according to officials.
Dorsey was sentenced to 141 months in jail.
Officials said Dorsey was sentenced on June 16 and the co-defendant will be punished on July 30.
