Outrage ensues in the community as a Florida man turns himself in for killing his girlfriend

Alexander Roque, a Florida man, is in detention after being charged with murdering his girlfriend and then carrying her body to a police station, where he turned himself in.

According to records, the 48-year-old Roque is being held without bond at the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation facility on a second-degree murder accusation stemming from a terrible chain of events that occurred late on a Saturday night.

At roughly 11:18 p.m., the Florida City Police Department discovered a white Hyundai Tucson parked outside their station, and Roque surrendered to officers, admitting the presence of a body and the murder weapon. Paramedics discovered the victim, 44-year-old Yesenia Rodriguez, dead in the passenger seat, with the .38 revolver under the driver’s seat. Rodriguez’s estranged husband notified police enforcement that Roque had contacted him to confess the crime, sending him a photo of the deceased and subsequently exposing the body via a WhatsApp video conversation while driving around Florida City.

Roque, who allegedly refused to cooperate with authorities after his detention, is thought to have committed the murder owing to problems in their relationship. The Miami-Dade Police Department is leading the investigation. Neighbors said that Roque, who had lived in Florida City for around two years, had become reclusive following a personal loss and had increased security measures at his home.
