Troy Turkey Trot happening today

Troy, New York. On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, Mayor Carmella Mantello reminded everyone who was in the City of Troy about the 77th Troy Turkey Trot.

As we begin the holiday season, our event brings together over 10,000 spectators and over 7,000 runners and walkers from 37 states, Puerto Rico, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Anguilla, and Australia to celebrate the beauty of our historic downtown and neighborhoods, said Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello. We can make sure that everyone has a good time and stays safe if runners, spectators, and locals work together. On Thanksgiving morning, I’m excited to welcome everyone to Troy to celebrate health, community, and family.

George Regan, Troy Turkey Trot Event Director, said, “We encourage all participants to support our community’s most vulnerable members by donating to the Trot’s two main charities: the Regional Food Bank and Joseph’s House & Shelter.” Families in need can get four meals for just $1.
