The loss of one of its K-9s has left the Bennington Police Department in mourning.
K-9 According to the authorities, Gracie passed away following an unexpected medical incident.
Gracie passed away before being taken to the Capital District Veterinary Hospital in Latham.
K-9 Gracie spent eight years in the department.
During her more than 500 deployments, she assisted in the recovery of more than $1 million in cash and drugs and the discovery of over 70 individuals.
She also went to a lot of school functions.
In the near future, the Bennington Police Department will commemorate Gracie with a memorial service.
