All set. Strike it.
In a powerful and accurate maneuver, the U.S. Navy’s top flying crew uses those three words to point the noses of their F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter planes skyward and begin an almost vertical rise.
On March 29–30, 2025, the flying squadron will return to Naval Air Station for the Southernmost Air Spectacular, showcasing its blue and gold aircraft and skilled aviators. The performance will commemorate the U.S. Navy’s 250th anniversary.
In keeping with the Air-Land-Sea theme for 2025, NAS Key West will also host a boat and auto display as part of the impending extravaganza.
The air station has invited almost a dozen other aerial artists, both civilian and military, in addition to the Blue Angels. SAR Search and Rescue flying their MH-60S Knighthawk, the local Fighter Squadron Composite (VFC) 111 Sun Downers, and the U.S. Special Operations Command Para-Commandos Jump Team are examples of military actions.
The world-famous Darnell Racing Jet Vehicle, Rob Holland’s MXS, Michael Goulian’s EXTRA 330SC, and Skip Stewart’s Prometheus aircraft are examples of civilian activities.
The air field will also have other military and vintage aircraft, some of which can be toured. A children’s area, a Vietnam memorial wall, food and goods vendors, exhibitor booths, and more are among the additional attractions.
