PRESCOTT, Arizona — The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office reports that a head-on collision near Prescott on Saturday claimed the lives of a father and two of his children.
According to the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority, the collision occurred on Williamson Valley Road close to Levie Lane at approximately 3:01 p.m. on Saturday, as reported by 12News. That region lies just east of Granite Mountain and west of Prescott Regional Airport.
Deputies discovered a father and a child dead at the scene of the collision, according to YCSO. While being transferred to a hospital, a second child passed away. Three persons received medical attention for their injuries after being evacuated to hospitals. At a Phoenix hospital, a third youngster is in critical condition.
A man from Chino Valley named Jesse Forman was driving a Toyota 4-Runner on Williamson Valley Road when he crossed the center line and struck a Jeep SUV head-on, according to YCSO.
Forman was in the 4-Runner with his three kids and their mother, while the Jeep was being driven by a woman who was only recognized as being in her 60s and her adult son.
According to YCSO, the lady and her kid were both transported to a Flagstaff hospital after suffering severe injuries.
The extent of the mother’s injuries was not disclosed by YCSO.
In a press release, Yavapai County Sheriff David Rhodes stated, “The Sheriff’s office extends the deepest sympathy to the children and the families involved in this horrific crash.” “I also want to recognize the tireless efforts of the many first responders who immediately rushed to the aid of all involved.”
According to YCSO, deputies have been working harder to police traffic on Williamson Valley Road because of “recent complaints from the public.” The scene of this collision and other parts of the county where reckless driving has become an issue will be patrolled, according to the sheriff’s office.
