Armed Robbery and Shooting in San Jose Leads to Two Arrests, One Still at Large

Police announced on Thursday that two suspects were arrested in connection with a gunshot and armed robbery in San Jose in March.

The San Jose Police Department responded to allegations of an armed robbery and assault in the 70 block of Phelan Avenue early on March 23.

Officers said that a man was strolling in the vicinity when a car approached. Police say three guys inside the vehicle disembarked and brandished a gun at the victim.

According to authorities, the victim battled with one suspect before being shot.

Police stated the suspects stole approximately $40,000 worth of things from the victim before fleeing the area.

About a month later, 39-year-old Joseph Rico of Mountain House and Julian Lomeli of Stockton were arrested in connection with the armed robbery, according to police on Thursday. Both were booked into the Santa Clara Jail.

A third suspect is still on the run. Police stated the suspect is a guy, but no additional details were available.
