One died after 25 shots fired at a car on Chicago Expressway

On Thursday morning, a man was discovered dead in his car after being shot on the Eisenhower Expressway near Paulina Street on Chicago’s Near West Side.

The Illinois State Police (ISP) claimed that gunfire impacted at least one vehicle in the westbound lanes shortly before 3:30 a.m. Tragically, the victim, a 25-year-old guy, died after being transported to a local hospital, according to ISP.

The incident has resulted in the closing of the Paulina Street ramp, causing traffic congestion. The sad aftermath was visible at the inquiry site, with over 25 shot casings discovered, emphasizing the gravity of the occurrence.

There were three gunshot holes in the front windshield and three more in the driver’s side door. During the violent altercation, shots shattered the victim’s car’s passenger window. Authorities are aggressively probing the circumstances surrounding this horrific incident.
