I know there are some things in life that I’m not supposed to understand. The River Dance is an example. Why was this so popular? I don’t understand it. I also don’t understand why so many people from Illinois are now migrating to Tennessee.

24/7 Wall Street used the expression “flocking to Tennessee” when they provided data on which states are moving the most to Tennessee. Guess who is near the top of the list? Congratulations if you said Illinois, as the Land of Lincoln ranks fifth on the “going to Tennessee” list.

Get it. According to the ranking, 12,602 Illinoisans pulled up stakes and drove their covered wagon to Nashville, Tennessee. That’s a lot of cowboy hats that were probably sold as they arrived in town.

We know that 344,027 people departed Illinois in the last year alone, and those people had to go somewhere, right? What is it about Tennessee that makes it so appealing? It’s not that someone doesn’t acknowledge Tennessee’s beauty and abundance of attractions.

The eastern section of the state, which is in the Smoky Mountains, is amazing and undervalued in my opinion, but is it truly underrated?

Tennessee has a lot going for it. Nashville is highly trendy these days, having a 24/7 downtown area. There are also plenty of jobs in the Volunteer State. I’m guessing more people in Illinois are lured to those country bars.
