5 injured in shooting sparked by parking dispute at blues bar, authorities say

Five individuals were shot early Friday morning outside the Chicago Blu’z Bar & Grill after a suspect opened fire on a gathering. According to the Associated Press, the shooting occurred soon after a violent altercation outside the bar over a parking spot.

Following the struggle, the accused gunman fled but later returned to the location and fired more bullets. One of the victims was involved in the initial altercation, but the others appear to have been onlookers. According to police, the victims’ ages range from 33 to 49 years old and are in stable condition.

When he came back, he brought a gun, as most cowards do,” Assistant Police Chief Charles Fitzgerald said. “Five people getting shot over a parking spot is just silly to me.

The alleged shooter has not yet been apprehended, but police believe he left in a dark-colored SUV. Anyone with information on the shooting or the suspect’s whereabouts is requested to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
