Iconic Fooq’s is Returning, Redefining Miami’s Little River Neighborhood

If Little River wasn’t already on your radar, it certainly will be now. With the upcoming reopening of Fooq’s, Miami’s emerging gastronomic and cultural powerhouse only minutes north of the Design District and Little Haiti will welcome its newest buzzy tenant.

The Downtown Mediterranean nook from David Foulquier’s We All Gotta Eat Hospitality was popular for its tasty home-style cuisine, including charcoal-grilled kebabs and Persian soups. It was a great place to get an elevated yet informal supper before heading over to the neighboring Adrienne Arsht Center for a show.

Fooq’s has been shuttered since 2021 when Foulquier’s Eleventh Street Pizza took over the premises due to the pandemic. Unlike its previous location, the new Fooq’s will be built from the ground up at 150 NW 73rd Street, spanning 9,000 square feet. The restaurant is scheduled to open by the end of 2024.

Aside from its reputation as Miami’s top restaurant since its inception in 2015, Fooq’s introduces a new level of grandeur to Little River with its Joyn Studio-designed facility. The Swedish firm has developed a number of well-known restaurants, including Frantzén, which is one of the World’s 50 Best and has three Michelin stars.

The two-story space will have an outdoor lounge and design elements from Fooq’s history, which is a contemporary blend of traditional Middle Eastern and Moroccan influences.

The menu will include several of Fooq’s original recipes as well as new items inspired by Foulquier’s travels over the last few years, with a focus on tradition and freshness. The new bar will have a full liquor license and a craft cocktail program that complements its already superb wine list.
