Is Outlook down? Thousands of Microsoft 365 users report outage issues

NEW YORK (AP) On Monday, thousands of Microsoft 365 users around the globe reported experiencing problems with Teams and Outlook.

Some affected individuals reported difficulties viewing their emails, accessing calendars, or launching other Microsoft 365 apps, such Powerpoint, in comments and social media posts on sites like the outage tracker Downdetector.

Earlier in the day, Microsoft reported a problem that affected customers trying to use Exchange Online or features in the Microsoft Teams calendar. The social media site updatespostedon X, formerly known as Twitter, stated on its status page that it had discovered a recent modification that it thought was the cause of the issue and was attempting to reverse it.

As of just before noon E.T., Microsoft reported that it had deployed a remedy that had reportedly reached roughly 98% of the impacted environments.

However, for the bulk of impacted consumers, the company’s later-added targeted restarts were proceeding more slowly than expected.

Downdetector displayed thousands of outage reports from Microsoft 365 users, especially those using Outlook, as of Monday noon.
