Albany woman pleads not guilty to intentionally hitting, killing man with car

On Monday, an Albany woman entered a not guilty plea for purposefully using her car to strike and murder her neighbor.

Brittany Hawkins, 34, is accused of second-degree murder in connection with the death of 28-year-old Daquan Phillips on October 31.

Before colliding with an apartment at the Upper Sky Line Apartments, Hawkins allegedly drove up onto the sidewalk and struck Phillips. It took place close to the intersection of Manning Boulevard and Lark Drive at approximately 8:30 a.m.

According to authorities, Hawkins and the victim had been fighting prior to the assault.

The following day, the victim passed away. According to investigators, he and Hawkins had been fighting prior to the attack.
