Elon Musk to Join the ‘Daily Show’ After Jon Stewart’s Criticism of DOGE

Jon Stewart has had an action-packed few days, beginning with a monologue blasting Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and ending with the Daily Show host slicing open his hand. Musk took the fight to X on Wednesday, with his supporters demanding that the Tesla billionaire face Stewart on air.

In response to a video titled “Elon Musk Should Go On Jon Stewart’s Daily Show” posted to X after Stewart’s remarks by lesser known account @FarzadMedia, Musk wrote, “I will do it if the show airs unedited.” Musk’s reply caught the attention of the Daily Show ‘s official account, which reposted it on Wednesday with the caption, “@elonmusk we’d be delighted!”

While it has yet to be confirmed whether Musk will attend, the potential interview is sure to be lively, given Stewart’s outspoken criticism of DOGE and President Donald Trump.

During Monday’s Daily Show segment, Stewart slammed the systemic firing of tens of thousands of federal employees from nearly a dozen agencies with little regard for their public value.

“How about we just take the $3 billion in subsidies we give to oil and gas companies that already turned billions in profits?” The late-night host proposed an alternative to the devastating firings.

“How about we just close the $1.3 billion annual carried interest loophole for hedge funds? Oh, how about we stop giving defense contractors $2 trillion to build a fighter jet that blows up, when everyone knows the next war will be fought with drones and blockchain, whatever that is, holy sh*t!”

As Stewart became enraged, he smashed a “World’s Most Dad” mug into pieces and later joked, “I’ll be going to the hospital soon.” If Musk accepts the Daily Show’s offer, Stewart should be fully healed in time for the showdown.
