Pinellas County Restaurants with the Most Health Violations This Month

Recent inspections of restaurants in Pinellas County, Florida, found a number of violations. Some of the restaurants did not meet inspection guidelines. The results from the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation give an idea of how well restaurants in the area follow food safety rules.

In the last 30 days, state officials have looked at all 448 places in the county in detail. While 331 businesses passed their first checks without any problems, 117 restaurants did not make the grade on their first check.

Twenty restaurants in Pinellas County were on the list of restaurants with the most violations found in February 2025, according to reports from the state.

Temporary Closure and Violations of High Priority

As of February 18, 2025, one restaurant, the Mexican diner El Tenampa in St. Petersburg, was told to temporarily close.

During the first visit, officials found 23 violations, six of which were considered “high-priority.” These problems needed a follow-up review the same day. The restaurant fixed the main problems and was then allowed to reopen.

Violations of Two Digits

A number of other places in Pinellas County also had major violations. The Largo Family Restaurant had the most problems during its February 5 check, with 28. This was shown in state records. On the next day’s follow-up check, things were better, but 12 violations were still there.

Also, the Daiquiri Shak Bar And Grill in Madeira Beach was charged for 10 or more violations on February 14, with a total of 27 violations. Even though there were a lot of people there, the business passed its inspections and was not closed.
