The afternoon in New Mexico was even warmer than the afternoon on Monday. The high temperatures rose another 5° to 15°. The weather across the whole state was warmer than usual, with sunny skies and a light breeze. It will be even warmer across the state on Wednesday. Albuquerque may reach 80° for the first time this year.
A weak cold front will move into eastern New Mexico Wednesday night. Thursday afternoon will be a little cooler in the eastern half of the state because of this. In the other half of New Mexico, the warming will keep going. It’s likely that Albuquerque will reach 80° on Thursday if it doesn’t happen on Wednesday.
It will keep getting warmer in New Mexico through Friday and the weekend. Several record high temperatures are expected on Saturday afternoon. For the first time this year, southeast New Mexico will reach the 90s, and Albuquerque will get just a few degrees below 90°! This weekend will also have breezy weather, with some gusts of up to 35 mph. It will be a little cooler on Sunday afternoon and early next week because it’s likely to rain again by next Tuesday.
