5 Hospitalized After Suspected Stolen Truck Crashes Head-on During Aurora Police Chase, Officials Say

According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), five people were sent to the hospital after a suspected stolen vehicle crashed head-on.

At around 6:27 p.m. on Saturday, troopers responded to an injury crash near the junction of South Cherry Street and South Leetsdale Drive.

According to troopers, the incident occurred while the Aurora Police Department was pursuing a suspected stolen vehicle.

While being pursued, officers say a 2000 Dodge Ram collided with another vehicle near East Florida Avenue and South Willow Street in Denver.

The crash resulted in no injuries. According to troopers, the suspect then went northbound on Parker Road.

The hood of the Dodge Ram rose up due to damage from the initial incident, blocking the driver’s view and forcing the Ram into the southbound lanes, where the suspect car crashed with a Nissan Leaf.

Four individuals were transported to the hospital. The driver of the Nissan Leaf is suspected of suffering significant injuries.

The driver of the suspected stolen vehicle was apprehended and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The CSP Vehicular Crimes Unit is actively investigating this crash.
