Three young girls reported missing in Washington state have been found dead, and their father is wanted in connection with their killings, according to authorities.
According to the Wenatchee Police Department, 9-year-old Paityn Decker, 8-year-old Evelyn Decker, and 5-year-old Olivia Decker were discovered deceased near the Rock Island Campground on Monday.
Travis Decker, 32, the father, is still missing and faces three counts of first-degree murder and kidnapping.
According to the Wenatchee Police Department, the three daughters left with their father on Friday for a scheduled visitation.
“The visitation was part of a parenting plan, but he has since gone outside the parameters, which is unusual and cause for concern,” police said in a statement at the time the girls went missing.
At the time, the inquiry did not fulfil the AMBER Alert standards; however, the Washington State Patrol issued an Endangered Missing Person Alert.
When the three girls went missing, Decker was thought to be homeless and living in a white 2017 GMC Sierra pickup vehicle with the Washington license plate D20165C.
The truck was found near the campground where the girls’ bodies were discovered on Monday evening.
Decker is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 190 pounds, with black hair in a ponytail and brown eyes. He was last spotted wearing a light shirt with dark shorts.
It is unclear whether Decker is currently armed, but he might represent a considerable risk if approached. It’s worth noting that he is a veteran with significant training.
