After a boater was discovered dead at Lake Pueblo State Park on May 31, the Pueblo County Coroner was able to identify the deceased individual.
An incident involving a boat that had capsized in the reservoir was reported to the Colorado State Patrol on Friday evening. Almost twenty-four hours after the person went missing, crews responded and searched for them.
Following the boat’s capsize amid a violent windstorm, the authorities reported that they discovered that three individuals went into the water, but only two individuals were able to make it back to land.
The body of the missing boater was discovered on Saturday evening, according to officials from Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
“The missing boater has been identified as Derrick Lee Vigil, 28 years old, from Pueblo,” the Pueblo County Coroner said on Thursday.
As a result of the boat capsize, the coroner stated that Vigil passed away in the reservoir.
