2 Construction Workers Critically Injured After Electrocution at Michigan Job Site

Two construction workers are in critical condition after getting electrocuted on a job site in Livingston County.

On Thursday (June 5), around 12:30 p.m., deputies and Brighton Area Fire officials were summoned to a commercial construction site on Latson Road south of Grand River Avenue in Genoa Township.

According to police, workmen on site were pouring concrete when the concrete truck’s boom spreader came into contact with a primary power line, causing it to break and fall.

According to officials, the two personnel on the ground were electrocuted when a power line fell on them.

According to police, they were both brought to the University of Michigan Hospital in critical condition by Livingston County EMS.

DTE aided deputies on the site, and the incident was reported to the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Officials added that no other information on the victims or the company will be published at this time.

MIOSHA will give any additional information as this is a workplace accident.
