A Florida guy was arrested after allegedly confessing to killing his parents.
According to a news release, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Largo house on June 6 after someone contacted and requested a welfare check for an employee who did not show up for work.
Around 12:30 p.m., deputies arrived at the home and discovered 53-year-old Elizabeth Lee Kirchner and 64-year-old Steven Eric Kirchner dead from gunshot wounds.
Investigators determined that the couple’s 37-year-old son, Nicholas Steven Kirchner, fled the house before deputies arrived.
Nicholas Steven Kirchner’s attorney information was not accessible.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina then called detectives regarding a second incident in which Nicholas Steven Kirchner was accused of involvement.
According to the statement, he said during the incident, “I’ve already killed two people — I’ll kill some more.”
Nicholas Steven Kirchner fled again, but was apprehended in Georgia by the Taliaferro County Sheriff’s Office, deputies reported.
He subsequently “admitted several times” to killing his parents, claiming it was a “righteous kill,” according to the release.
He was charged with two charges of first-degree murder.
Largo is around 25 miles west of downtown Tampa.
