A one-month-old infant died and his mother was hospitalised with serious injuries after being reported missing in Connecticut.
Sadie Fleming, 27, and her son Hudson have been reported missing by Connecticut State Police since Sunday morning.
A silver alert was sent out.
Authorities say Fleming was last seen leaving her home with her infant between midnight and 7 a.m. on Sunday.
They responded to her residence on Brinsmade Road in Washington, Connecticut.
The mother and son were discovered about 5:45 p.m. on the same day.
Police say Fleming was discovered on a forested road in Washington. She was sent to a local hospital with significant injuries.
Hudson was located close in the woods, according to state police. He was brought to a hospital and pronounced dead.
What caused their injuries was unclear.
As of Monday, state police had not announced any arrests or identified any suspects in the case.
They think, however, that there is no risk to the public.
