A wrong-way driver is facing multiple charges following a police pursuit in Colorado.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy observed a vehicle speeding north in the southbound lanes between Highlands Ranch Parkway and Titan Road.
The deputy turned on emergency lights and caught up with the suspect vehicle near Highway 85 and Highlands Ranch Parkway.
The driver slowed briefly at a red light, ran it, and then accelerated again. Deputies said the suspect vehicle slowed to about 30 mph between Highlands Ranch Parkway and Town Centre Drive before attempting to flee again.
The pursuit continued until the vehicle came to a stop near Brandon Drive.
Deputies said the driver, a 40-year-old man, was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless driving, misdemeanour eluding, and red light violations.
