3 Critically Injured in Head-on Crash on Highway 20 Near Grass Valley

Three people were critically injured in an incident on Highway 20 west of Grass Valley on Thursday afternoon, with one being flown, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. near Rex Reservoir Road, when an eastbound vehicle crossed the double yellow lines for unexplained reasons and collided head-on with an approaching vehicle, according to CHP.

The drivers of both vehicles, as well as the single passenger in the impacted vehicle, were sent to hospitals with serious injuries. One of the drivers was transported to a hospital in Placer County.
