A guy is facing multiple charges after reportedly fleeing the scene of a crash that he caused early Sunday morning.
According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), a black 2011 Toyota Camry rear-ended a Patrol vehicle at 1:56 a.m., pinning a Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) contractor.
According to CSP, the cars were positioned in the left lane of eastbound Highway 36 at Pecos Street, actively conducting traffic control following a previous crash.
Following the crash, CSP reported that the Camry continued eastward on Highway 36. A second trooper reportedly used Tactical car Intervention (TVI) to safely stop the suspect car.
Bryan Granillo, 28, was taken into custody at the scene and sent to the Adams County Sheriff’s Detention Facility.
He faces charges of driving under the influence, felony evading, and failing to remain at the scene of a accident.
The trooper and highway worker involved were both transported to the hospital, where they were treated for their injuries before being released, according to CSP.
The investigation is underway.
