Food Delivery Drivers Robbed at Gunpoint in Chicago Neighborhood

CHICAGO — Chicago police have issued a community alert following a series of armed robberies targeting food delivery drivers in the McKinley Park neighborhood. The incidents, which date back to October, continued through December, with the most recent robbery occurring on December 16.

Robbery Details

In each reported case, food delivery drivers were ambushed after arriving at their delivery addresses. They were confronted by one or two armed suspects wielding rifles or handguns, demanding money, food, and cell phones.

  • Oct. 21: 3700 block of South Wolcott Avenue (11:30-11:50 p.m.)
  • Oct. 22: 3700 block of South Paulina Street (10:30 p.m.)
  • Nov. 7: 3500 block of South Hoyne Avenue (2:00 a.m.)
  • Nov. 27: 3700 block of South Wood Street (4:30 p.m.)
  • Dec. 16: 3700 block of South Wood Street (11:38 p.m.)

Suspect Descriptions

Police released detailed descriptions of several suspects involved in the robberies:

  • Pair 1: A Hispanic woman, 22-28 years old, accompanied by a Hispanic man of similar age wearing a white shirt and black pants.
  • Pair 2: Two unknown individuals, one wearing a green hooded sweatshirt.
  • Individual 3: A man, 23-26 years old, with straight black “Edgar Haircut,” wearing a gray hoodie and baggy pants, with a cross tattoo on his forearm and a Hispanic accent.
  • Pair 4: A Hispanic man with a face tattoo, wearing a black mask (5’7” to 5’9”), and another Hispanic man standing 6’3” with brown eyes, black hair, and a dark complexion.

  • Gray Minivan
  • Gold Chevrolet Tahoe
